Backorders - What it is and how it is done!
The German Shop offers a great range of
products with a lot of in-stock items but some items can ONLY be made available
through backorder. This is due to different reasons e.g. short shelf life,
seasonal items, heat sensitive, fragile and therefore needs special packing.
Those items are clearly marked with "only available through backorder" in the

Sometimes products are sold out but the
customer can choose the convenience of ordering those products through
backorder instead of ordering later again.
If a product is sold out the customer will find a 0 or a number with a minus on the bottom of every product page where it says: # Units in stock.
Please check carefully!
If the customer orders items which state < or 0 units in stock that product will get placed on backorder.
The customer will see a red notification during check-out as well that items marked with *** are out of stock and will be placed as backorder if the customer proceeds ordering them.
After successful check-out and payment the backorder items will be included in the next shipment from Germany to our warehouse in QLD, Australia. The backorder items are on a special reservation for the customer and will not be sold to anyone else. If the order contains in-stock items as well we will hold those items for the customer. As soon as the shipment with backorder items arrives in our warehouse the customers complete order will be send out. If the customer has bargain items with a short expiry date in the same order with backorders it might be possible for the bargains to be expired before the complete order gets delivered to the customer.
Please note the flat rate shipping fee is for ONE parcel ONLY, including a combined weight of goods and box/filling material of up to 15kg total weight which must fit in 1 ( ONE) parcel with the max. dimensions of 43cm x 30,5cm x 14cm. If the weight or volume of the customers order exceeds the above limits additional shipping fees will apply and the customer will be notified by email.

Please note placing items on backorder is a lengthy
process. Our shipments leave Germany
twice a month. From the day of dispatch the usual international transit time plus
handling at customs is 3-5 weeks to our warehouse. Shipping from us to the

That means average waiting time for backorders to arrive at the customers doorstep is 5 - 8 weeks. Many customers use the system of backordering their favorite items on a regular basis but some do not want to wait that long and order only in-stock items or arrange to receive two shipments (in-stock immediately / backorder later) which incurs an additional fee of 15 AUD for shipping.
Please DO NOT order bargains together with placing items on backorder in the same order. Your specials might already be expired and will not be sent to you by the time your backorder arrives in our warehouse. Please note in that case we will either
a) provide you with a similar substitute
b) send you a refund
c) or you can upgrade to the regular stock price and we will invoice you the difference!
